Project Manager / Construction Coordinator

Located in the beautiful North Thompson valley, Tselxmékst Ventures Ltd., is a diversified First Nations owned company partnered with Brentwood Enterprises LP that is a multi-disciplined organization with expertise in heavy road construction, underground utilities, aggregate processing and supply, railway construction maintenance and emergency response, clearing, harvesting, reforestation and land development.

Job Brief:
We are seeking highly motivated individuals for Project Manager / Construction Coordinator positions. This job entails assisting the Construction Manager during day-to-day activities on various projects within the North Thompson Valley.

Duties: 

  • Assist Construction Manager with day-to-day activities on various projects, including pipeline, clearing and construction.
  • Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
  • Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow. 
  • Submit project reports to Operations and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated.

Requirements:

  • Valid class 5 drivers’ license and clean driver’s abstract, reliable transportation
  • Practical experience in project execution and daily construction reporting
  • Basic Survey knowledge
  • Completed Grades and Stakes Course 
  • You have a working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management and contract software.
  • Strong ability to read and understand construction drawing and documents.
  • Strong Time management and communication skills 
  • Ability to work alone and proficiently in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Projects or similar program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • You have the ability to confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations.
  • Flexibility of shift scheduling and work location is a must.
  • Site Safety Requirements fulfilled; ability to access and ensure compliance.

Work Conditions:

  • Willingness to travel and work long hours.
  • Physically fit - Including, but not limited to; the ability to lift 20 – 50 lbs. 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Note: Pre-Employment/Access Drug and Alcohol Testing is required.
