Reporting to the Lodge Manager, with a direct line of communication to the Project Owner. The successful candidate will be responsible for general security supervision within the 5A Camp facility. The successful candidate will work a 14 days on and 14 days off rotation, which may include days, nights, weekend shifts and statutory holidays.
*Note: This is a 1 year contract position, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with contracted guards at the 5A facility
- Oversee speciality guard functions such as radar, random searches, CCTV monitoring, mobile patrols etc.
- Assist with drug dog inspections and searches if required
- Resolve issues or conflicts at Site access gates regarding ID badges, Visitors, Vehicle passes
- Respond to security incidents within the 5A facility and take action to resolve the situation (A&D, verbal conflict, thefts etc.)
- Conduct security investigations and write investigation reports
- Oversee security statistics collection
- Support and lead site safety initiatives
- Assist with emergencies at the 5A. facility
- Prepare a variety of reports
Skills & Abilities
- Minimum 3-5 years policing experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in a security/police supervisor or management role
- Strong investigative background
- Strong knowledge of core security principles
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Willing to work either Night Shift or Day Shift
- Willing and able to work in a remote, camp style environment in a 14/14 rotation. *Add weekend/evening
- Create and maintain relationship and communication with Local Law Enforcement
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with a 5-year diving record satisfactory to Civeo's driving criteria
- Must be able to pass a pre-access Drug and Alcohol test
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with or supervising contracted guards
- Previous experience on major construction projects and/or working on an oil/gas site or pipeline projects
- A background in training
- Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills, capacity to build trust among internal and external stakeholders
- Establish track record as a self-starter with the ability to work and succeed without direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-stress and challenging environments
- Team player - ability to influence without authority and support the success of a team
- Must have excellent English verbal and writing language skills
