Part-Time Store Cleaner

Barriere Timber Mart is a modern, multi department Building Supply Store and Lumber Yard located in the heart of the North Thompson Valley, 45 minutes north of Kamloops, B.C. 

Current Opportunities

Barriere Timber Mart is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Store Cleaner who will have the ability to perform heavy lifting, be on their feet for long periods of time, and be able to make quick decisions while maintaining an efficient and safe workplace. This position is part-time at 16 hours per month. 

 Responsibilities

  • Complete a detailed clean of the store, including common areas, washrooms, offices, and floors. 
  • Wash walls, handrails, floors, toilets, counters, etc. 
  • Replenish supplies including garbage bags, toilet paper, soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers. 
  • Ensure that offices and front till are dusted. Including monitors, keyboards, counters, cabinets, scanners, and debit machines. 
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors on a weekly basis. 
  • Complete seasonal cleaning including, windows (inside and out), vacuum furnace intake, vacuum and mop restricted areas. 
  • Ensure closing process is followed. 
  • Vacuum furnace intake by the stairs. 
  • Vacuum and mop above the bathrooms on the first floor. 
  • Additional duties as required. 

 Job Requirements

  • A self-sufficient individual. 
  • Follows instruction well. 
  • An individual who is dedicated to their work. 
  • Passes a background check. 
  • Able to clean and do small maintenance duties. 
  • An individual who has experience 
  • Physically able to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, bending, pushing and lifting 
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
