Scholarships and Bursaries

Simpcw Resources Group offers a $1000 Indigenous Youth Post-Secondary Scholarship for indigenous students from the North Thompson Valley (Loius Creek, Barriére, Clearwater, Blue River and Valemount) attending a post-secondary institution.

In 2017, 3 students; Ayame Shipmaker, Jeremy Sterling and Melpatkwa Matthew, were awarded the $1000 from the Simpcw Resources Group Indigenous Youth Post-Secondary Scholarship.

In 2018, 6 students; Alex Mounsey, Brook Mounsey, Charlene Fortier, Maggie Eustache, Melpatkwa Matthew and Thomas Dodman, were awarded $1000 from the Simpcw Resources Group Indigenous Youth Post-Secondary Scholarship. Clicking on the awardees names brings you to their biographies.

All Applications are due July 15th of each year.

Estsék’ Environmental Services offers one $500 bursaries that is open to students who aspire to work in the scientific or environmental field as professionals and are in their last academic year at Barriére Secondary School or Clearwater Secondary Schools.
There are two $500 bursaries awarded to two students who are enrolled in a post-secondary science program for the upcoming academic year.
