Simpcw Resources LLP, alongside its business affiliates Trans Mountain and Ledcor, successfully raised over $4,775 through the combined efforts of the workforce on the Pipeline Reactivation Project in Jasper. On June 3rd, 2021, this generous donation was handed over to the Chu Chua Volunteer Fire Department.
The cheque presentation took place with key representatives from each organization, including Brant Cameron from TMEP, Tom Flannery from SLLP, D’arcy Scallon from SLLP, and Mary Mackenzie from SLLP. The donation was received by Jonathon Baggio, a dedicated member of the Chu Chua Volunteer Fire Department.
The Chu Chua Volunteer Fire Department & First Responders has been a crucial part of the community since its founding in 1985, initially starting with 8 active members. Today, the Fire Department has grown to include 12 committed members, led by the Fire Chief. The department’s Fire Hall, located in Chu Chua on Dunn Lake Road, was built in 2017.
Given that Chu Chua is more than 20 minutes away from the nearest emergency clinic or hospital, the role of First Responders is vital. They are often the first line of defense in medical emergencies, providing immediate assistance that can sustain patients until they reach a medical facility for further treatment.
This generous contribution from Simpcw Resources LLP and its partners reinforces the strong community ties and the importance of supporting local services like the Chu Chua Volunteer Fire Department.
