Current Opportunities:
Simpcw Resources Group is growing rapidly and looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Community HR Assistant to join our Human Resources Department. The Community HR assistant will support company engagement with community members to assist in the creation and implementation of training and educational courses for band members. The Community HR Assistant will also offer administrative support to the HR Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between Simpcw Band members, Simpcw First Nation’s education department and the HR department of SRG to determine community needs relating to training and educational courses.
- Engage with Simpcw Band Members to attract qualified members to apply for positions available at Simpcw Resources Group.
- Provide community members with current training, education, and job positions available through Simpcw Resources Group.
- Assist with the day-to-day administrative operations of the HR department.
- Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
- Prepare new hire packages, ensuring new employees have completed and provided all necessary documentation and certifications.
- Participate in recruitment efforts.
- Provide new employee HR orientations to support workers understanding of company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assist in the planning and start-up of new projects with respect to HR policies and documents.
- Providing other administrative support to the HR Team as needed.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field
- Intermediate user level in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- A passion for empowering people with an empathetic and supporting attitude.
- Collaborates, coordinates, and communicates with others effectively.
- The ability to work within a team environment but also to work independently.
- Understanding of the Simpcw culture and community.
- Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
- Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.
