Land and Permit Interface Analyst - Burnaby, TMEP (term role)

Job Description

As a Land and Permit Interface Analyst with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work on our major project team, with a progressive and fast-paced group of Land and Permitting professionals. This team is working to deliver the required land and permit access for construction. This position is based in our Burnaby, British Columbia office. Learn from your Leader, the Senior Manager, Permit Services. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements for land, permits and project schedules, to determine priorities and alignment with land and permit acquisition teams. 
  • Coordinate with engineering and survey teams to acquire land, crossings, and road lists and drawings in order to expedite land and permits delivery.
  • Produce readiness reports as required for discrete construction packages and spreads.
  • Track actions, issues, risks and dependencies associated with land and permits delivery.
  • Provide an interface with Project Management and General Contractors to align project requirements with land and permits delivery.
  • Track commitments and conditions derived from agreements and permits to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all documentation is available to the General Contractor through the Construction Binder. 
  • Ensure the Line Lists are complete and representative of land and permits delivery. 
  • Maintain Permitting Registers of all permits, licenses, notifications, approvals, registrations and other authorizations. 
  • Tracking Permit status (under preparation, lodged, obtained), key milestone dates and approval conditions. 
  • Maintaining copies of applications, supplementary information and granted permits on the Projects document management system. 
  • Provision of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports relating to land and permits delivery. 
  • Support the project management and land/permits leadership in understanding of data and data analysis. 

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field, preferred. 
  • 3-6 years of project related experience. 
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills. 
  • Analytical mindset with demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Approaches challenges with mental tenacity and ability to overcome resistance and competing priorities. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
